Healthy Eats – London: by CHLOE

There was great excitement when NYC-based vegan chain by CHLOE opened in London’s Theaterland earlier this year.
by Chloe is known for taking classic dishes like Fish and Chips, Burgers, Caesar Salad, and Mac & Cheese and making them vegan.  I love that concept! You can find my vegan mac & cheese recipe HERE.
It was hot hot hot in London and I was ravenous!
I ordered the Greek salad, artichoke dip with nachos and an iced almond matcha latte.
The staff were super helpful and sweet and quickly changed my latte to an Iced version when I realised  I had ordered the wrong one.  But unfortunately on this occasion I was underwhelmed by the food. It was bland and way too salty. One of my favorite foods in the world is artichokes but I sadly only got texture and salt from this dip.
I completely understand that the kitchen might have had a bad day and I’m going back to give it another chance, because I WANT to love it.
Have you been? What was your experience?

Healthy Eats – London: Yeotown Kitchen

Had a few hours to kill between voice-over jobs on Monday. (one where I had to sound like a 10 year old girl…not an easy task!!) No wonder I was starving afterwards!
I headed to Marylebone’s Chiltren Street to new healthy restaurant Yeotown Kitchen.

The mood is healthy- happy: loads of yellow, wood and motivational quotes. Just up my street. There’s a take-away area and a restaurant room with table service.
Down stairs there’s a small meditation area with cocooning egg chairs where you can re-charge with a short guided meditation. Loved it!

On to the food. The menu is long and full of goodness like Courage Bowl with Kimchee, Positivity Autumn salad, Vegan Burger, a wide selection of  smoothies, juices, vegan ice cream and sweet treats.
Unfortunately on the day I visited all my first choices were unavailable.
Had I taken my kids, or my parents for that matter, there would have been a complete melt down!
But I had been chilling downstairs and was filled with white light, so I patiently chose the a Warming Hot-plate Of The Day with Columbia beans, quinoa, spinach, sprouted mung beans and soy cream with cucumber for £11.95. So warming and filling, perfect for the first cold autumn day.  I also had a  Yeotonic Cherry Strawberry Kefir drink. at £5.95  and that really perked me up!

Natural Shampoo: Giovanni

Giovanni Shampoo

A very Good Monday Morning!

I’m hellbent on finding a of couple shampoos without SLS, phalates and parabens that I can alternate between without having to come back to the Kerastase shampoo that always delivers, but contains chemicals I try to avoid.

So far I’m VERY impressed with california brand Giovanni.

I have used the 50/50 Balanced Hydrating-Clarifying for normal to dry hair for awhile.

I don’t have dry hair as such, except my ends which are exceedingly dry at the moment, (haircut is way overdue!!) but this one really works for me.

It keeps my hair cleaner for a day longer than most other shampoos (isn’t washing your hair the most tedious thing to do?) and I like the bottle, the eco chic branding and it’s not expensive at £8.00.
